All about Christie

Hey there, I am Christie!

When I'm not chasing after my little tornados, August and Ellis, you'll likely find me whipping up sensory-friendly snacks or dreaming up new adventures - all while passionately advocating for autism acceptance.

For over a decade, I served families as a compassionate care nurse and patient advocate in home healthcare and hospice settings. Helping others feel heard, supported, and cared for feels ingrained in my DNA.

My Journey As A Neurodiverse Mom

Like many of you, my path to parenthood was a winding road full of unexpected twists and turns. When my son August was diagnosed with autism at age 3, I felt a mix of grief, relief, and determination. As his little personality blossomed, so did a million new questions and challenges.

The meltdowns, the societal judgments, the constant advocacy - there were days I didn't think I could go on. But then I'd see August light up during a sensory integration session or hear Ellis gleefully echoing his brother's stims, and I'd remember why I'll never stop fighting for them.

Those first few years of parenting a neurodivergent child were some of the darkest, but also most profoundly beautiful of my life. Every hard-won milestone, every small victory danced with pure magic. It's a journey that has deepened my empathy, resilience, and understanding of what really matters.

Now, I'm on a mission to help other parents and families find that magic amidst the chaos. To celebrate the unique strengths of their neurodivergent loved ones. And to provide the compassionate guidance I craved in those early years - so that you never have to walk this path alone.
